About NextStep Wales

NextStep Wales is a free support navigation service for people living in Wales. It starts with what has happened in someone’s life rather than expecting them to know the name of a benefit, grant or public service.

What we do

We bring together verified links and practical guidance from public services, charities and other trusted organisations. The service can suggest possible next steps, explain what information a person may need and help them organise a plan.

What we do not do

NextStep Wales does not decide eligibility, provide legal or medical advice, make applications on a user’s behalf or replace Citizens Advice, councils, NHS services or emergency services. Each recommendation links to the organisation responsible for the current information.

Our approach

We aim to make support easier to find, particularly when someone is stressed or unfamiliar with public-service language. We are building the service in Wales with English and Welsh access in mind, and we publish clear information about how content is checked.

Independent guidance

NextStep Wales is independent. Organisations are not charged to appear in ordinary recommendations, and we do not sell placement in order to influence what a person sees.
